Handy craft business for some people might has same value as other handy craft product.  Indeed, this handy craft product is still ordinary as other.

This handy craft product sells many things and puts them together in a good looking packaging, but since that way of selling it is too monotonic. It needs some changing to make this kind of product more stunning.

Then the product start to be combined with some aspect in life, such as religion, love fashion, food, tool and others. Unfortunately, none of them fit each other, they still look too monotonic.

Till one day, an interesting idea come out to make this product outstanding.  Culture become the choosen one to have collaboration with this handy craft product. Later this product will sell some local product form some region in Indonesia.  Indeed, many cultural handy craft is sold, but what make it different is the local product. This local product is the identity of the region, so that it is easy to be known by people.

This product is promising, since handy craft is needed by people and culture does not have limitation. It could be used for big days like Eid, Christmas, birthday and many others. It also has many devotes since the local product has an identity which is well-known. This product has a very simple marketing strategy as well, one of good reason why this product should be developed.

Here is the beginning of memorable local (Handy craft) gift. I would like to use my own experience of being a hopeless student in making money in order to survive in Surabaya, the second biggest city.

After trying several kinds of businesses, i thought that there must be another better way not only to make money, but also it gives the big impact toward small local industry.

In my break time, as a student who is busy with so many assignments, I tried to search how I can find the way to support the small local industry and got money in the same time. I invited my friends to discuss about this issue in the class.

Then, one day I had a little discussion with my friends. They are fatma,tutus, and prafina. Surprisingly, prafina had a good idea about my dream business. She told us that there is special product in Tuban which is promising to sell and promote. She asked us to try and find our hometown special product or traditional product. 

Now, my friends and I have find the proper and creative way to support the local industry but still get money from it we create “memorable local (handy craft) gift” as our new business. The products are consists of traditional things originally from Tuban, Lamongan, and Madura which represent our hometown. We also serve a special treatment that makes our customers have different experience after receiving our products, and that special treatment is the card called “quote of the day”.

As a college student of English department in the State University of Surabaya, I was lack of funds and I was hopeless about my life. My business story begins with my personal experience.

As time goes by, I have an idea to build a new business in order to earn money and to be a more independent adult. Furthermore, it would give impact to the world.

Due to having many assignments to do, I was lack of free time to focus on starting my new business. Likewise, with limited time, I decided to search for information about handy craft from my own region which is Lamongan. At the same time, I wish to sell local handcraft but people can get the product easily in the local industry. I must think about how to sell the product in a creative way.

Then, one day, after having a discussion with my friends, I found a brilliant insight about selling the product in a creative way in which I would sell local handy craft in parcel gift and the parcel must be eye-catching. Besides, we also give card which contains wise word in the parcel. Thus, the customer will always remember the gift. Not only from Lamongan, but it would sell handy craft from Tuban and Madura. Thus, I could promote the value of the products and identity of the region as well as earn money.

Today, my friends and I try to start the business. By having a business, we want to be more independent and get a better life. Additionally, through creating “Memorable Local Gift”, we also empower local craftsman and promote Indonesian traditional products particularly Lamongan, Tuban, Madura, East Java.

I am a local traveler and get obsessed by the beauty of my own country Indonesia. Enjoying the nature and interacting with the local people are so awesome. The most interesting part is gaining some knowledge and moral value from some historical buildings that I have visited, people that I have met, traditional food and drink that I have tasted, local handcraft that I bought, and many more.
